Matthew Jurek, DPT, CSCS
Matthew T. Jurek was born in Los Angeles, California, moved to the suburbs of Chicago, Illinois, yet considers himself a Hoosier as he grew up in Carmel, Indiana. He graduated with honors from the Indiana University school of Health and Sciences with a BS degree in Kinesiology and minor in Biology in 2005. While at IU, Matt also earned the designation as a Big Ten Academic All-American while playing football. Matt then continued his education through the IU Doctorate of Physical Therapy program, and graduated in 2008. While earning this degree, Matt furthered his credentials by becoming a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) through the National Strength and Conditioning Association (NSCA). He is also certified for ASTYM and for Graston treatments.
Matt enjoys working with both the serious and recreational athlete in order to return them to their respectful activity through a functional, therapeutic approach. He believes strongly in the use of theraputic exercise, education and manual techniques to target the affected joint area, as well as the whole system, in order to aid in the recovery of an individual's active lifestyle. Matt has a strong backround in personalizing programs for individuals with all levels of exercise backround.
Matt has relocated to Grants Pass, Oregon with his new wife, Leah, in order to further explore their shared hobbies of hiking, backpacking, kayaking, and various other recreational activities. Make no mistake; Matt and Leah are still die-hard Indianapolis Colts fans.
